Nick Valentijn (b. 1999, Echt, the Netherlands) is a designer working with furniture and sculptural objects. He graduated in 2024 from Fine Arts & Design in Maastricht.

Starting from a background in ceramics, Valentijn developed a way of working in which material, gesture and construction are closely connected. His objects are made by hand in materials such as copper, brass, wood and stone, often combining heavy, worked surfaces with precise details and functional elements.

His work is shaped through an intuitive process of sketching, cutting, welding, hammering, patinating and refining. Traces of making remain visible, creating a balance between rawness and refinement, control and irregularity.

Function plays an important role, but is never treated as a fixed rule. The objects often move between furniture and sculpture, between the usable and the unexpected, resulting in pieces that are at once functional, expressive and (un)practical.
